November 17, 2005 ST. PAUL - State Representative Sheldon Johnson (DFL-St. Paul) has been named a 2005 "Legislative Children's Champion" by the Children's Defense Fund Action Council. The council recognized Johnson for his work on behalf of Minnesota's children, in particular his 100 percent voting record on a series of key votes affecting the health and wellbeing of Minnesota kids. "Representative Johnson is one of those lawmakers who not only understands that his votes have real consequences for our children, but who also champions issues that positively impact children," said Children's Defense Fund Minnesota Director Jim Koppel. Johnson said his votes on children's issues reflect the values of the district he represents, as well as the state as a whole. "I've always felt fortunate to live in a state that values education and sees the investment in our children as our top priority," he said. |
